What happens when Christians die?
That's a question relevant to every one of us given the 'ultimate statistic' that one in every one person dies. And it's a question that I think even Bible-believing Christians can be a bit shaky on.
And it's the question which Paul addresses at the end of 1 Corinthians 15. He's dealing with this question the Corinthian church had asked him: "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?" (vs 35).
Paul says if only we'd consider three things we'd understand:
Consider your gardens vv 37-38 - Death leads to life
Consider Planet Earth vv 39-44 - God knows how to give appropriate bodies
Consider the first and last Adam vv 45-49 - We will bear the likeness of Jesus, not just the likeness of Adam.
What a glorious transformation and victory awaits us! hope we have! But what a surprising way Paul applies it in vs 58 (have a look).
