The Joy of Gospel Partnership
In Philippians 1 Paul writes, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
Sunday was a great reminder and visual display of the joy of gospel partnership. In the morning Richard Leadbeater ("Leady') preached Christ clearly and compellingly from Matthew 19 showing us how following Christ is both possible and sensible. You can listen to the sermon here. Leady is the pastor of King’s Church Guildford which is a new Anglican church (through AMiE). Emmanuel have had the privilege of being what Leady calls an 'older brother’ to King’s Church. Please join me in praising God for this great gospel initiative, and if you’re free come to the commissioning service on 9th May at 3pm.
Then in the evening we had our Annual General Meeting (AGM). We were keen to keep the focus on people, which is after all what we’re all about. So we had six mini interviews, including one with an international mission partner (Ben Williamson in Johannesburg) and one with a UK mission partner (Jake Eggertsen in Arborfield).
It was deeply moving to hear how, again, in a small way, Emmanuel has supported the proclamation of Christ by others far beyond Wimbledon through gospel partnership. Those of you who couldn't make it to the AGM missed out on a brilliant evening!
